This month's exploration is around forgiveness. We often think of having another person forgive us for deeds that have wounded us. But forgiveness is really a gift that we give ourselves. The sad reality is that people that wound us often do not realize the depth of pain their behavior and words cause. But we hold onto that pain. Forgive yourself for holding onto the memory of the painful event because in reality the event is over and is only alive in your brain. Forgive yourself for holding onto somebody elses problem. In cutting the cord (the energy that connects you to another person) you give that person the opportunity to heal by holding the mirror up to their face so they can more clearly see themselves and the parts of them they must heal.
Share you thoughts on forgiveness. What does it mean for you not to forgive?
